Bittersweet

"hai?" you answered, trying to hide the break in your voice.
"we need to talk, (your name)", you heard him say.
"sou ne" you answered.
"my place tonight," he said, " i don't want to say this to you in public."
"alright" you were nervous as you heard a click at the other end of the line.  Could this be the end? you thought.  He's never sounded as tense as that before.  Your mind was racing, thinking of all the possible things that might happen.  You felt uneasy the whole day and by night time you just mustered enough courage to get to his place.  You were early so you just let yourself in since you had your own spare key.   (ichiban's name) was really neat or was it the house help? You wondered.  You entered the bedroom as you were accustomed to do and plopped back on the bed and moaned.  Its been a very tiring day and everyone at work noticed how stressed you were.  You closed your eyes for a moment and thought of all the happy times you shared with (ichiban's name).  Without a sound, you felt someone lay beside you and kiss you tenderly, slowly becoming earnest. It was all too familiar to you. Your eyes flew open and saw (ichiban's name)'s face smiling down at you when you pushed him away.
"if this is your apology, (ichiban's name)--", you started.
"yes and no." (ichiban's name) cut your sentence short, "i just couldn't resist how beautiful you laid there..."
you noticed that his skin felt damp against yours and that drops of water were falling from his slightly damp hair.  You gaze went down and saw that he only had a towel between you and his lean, toned naked body.  The same one you loved to touch.  You looked away immediately blushing at the thought of him near you.
"Daijounu ka, (your name)?" (ichiban's name) asked, his face in that naughty grin of his.
"Y-you're half-dressed..." you said trying now to look him in the eye.
"Oh.. you mean half-naked?!" he countered but stopped when your brow furrowed, "Look, (your name), i don't want to argue anymore.  You had a point the other day.  I didn't listen.  I'm sorry.  It was very selfish and egotistical of me to have done and said all those things.  Please forgive me, my (your name).  I was being a huge jerk ne?"
You were overwhelmed.  He hardly ever admits his fault, let alone apologize.
"Ne, (your name)-chan" he touched your cheek, "Aishiteru yo."
Tears welled in your eyes.  He hardly said those words but you know in your heart he was truly sorry.  You played with a damp lock from his forehead and answered, "watashi mo."
"Mou...i love you more though." he said
"How did that happen?" you smiled up at him, your hand now touched his cheek and then your finger traced the outline of his lips ever so slowly.  You saw him shut his eyes for a moment, loving the sensation then opened his eyes again. You saw the fire in his eyes, "because I wouldn't have apologize or do this if I didn't..."
"Do what?" looking into his eyes.  He was leaning over you all this time and now bent down to kiss you gently.  As it became more hungry and urgent, you wrapped your arms around him, pulling him closer.  You felt his urgency against you.  You pushed him gently and shifted positions with him all the while taking your work clothes slowly, the way he liked it. 
"Yaru ka?" he breathed almost inaudibly.
"Sou, I want to love you, (ichiban's name)" you answered as you sat him down on the bed and with one flick of the wrist, pulled away the towel that hid him.  You kneeled in front of him and began working your lips magically on him.
"(your name)" he moaned over and over as you moved him closer to the edge of reason.  He stopped you and laid you down on the pillows and stripped you of the rest of your undies, teasing and caressing every inch of you until you were unable to take the bittersweet passion.
"Onegai, (ichiban's name)." you pleaded.
"I always have," he kissed you as he slowly ground against your softness.  The heat.  The desire.  The love burning your flesh till it soared up to and burst into the heavens like hanabi swirling in the lovely night sky then fading in the wake of the tenderness.  You laid in each others arms radiating in the warmth and contentness.  You were barely awake when you heard his voice say, "I will never hurt you, (your name).  I promise.  Never again."
